This is the second time I've done a group travel trip. This one was by far superior. It included many things not included by other companies like the Shanghai acrobats and a dance show. With other companies, those would have been extras. China was fun and I felt very safe wandering around on my free time. China Spree guides went the extra mile providing many extras like bottles of water daily for the touring so we didn't have to worry about getting that. The trip was well-organized, thoughtful and overall well-run. They didn't miss a beat. We just showed up at the different sites, meals and venues and everything was ready to go. I liked not having to worry about a thing just seeing and experiencing China. The people in our group were great and the way China Spree arranged meals and sightseeing, it allowed us to bond or operate independently if we so desired. I also appreciated that China Spree didn't bombard us with so-called factory tours. It seemed like on my previous group tour to another country, we got stuck doing those often.

I have been to over 80 countries and have been involved as a participant, planner, and/or tour director for many tours in Asia and worldwide. I went on China Spree’s Middle Kingdom as one of 12 passengers with a last-minute booking when some unexpected free time became available to me. I chose it based on the dates, great itinerary, small group size, and apparent value for the dollar. The tour exceeded my expectations in all regards! It was a wonderful introduction to China and the itinerary was simply outstanding. The National Guide/Tour Director, Li Ming, was superb in every way. In addition to seeing awesome sights, our national and local guides really gave us a feel for the country and a real understanding of the Chinese people and contemporary Chinese culture. The value offered for the dollar on this trip was exceptional. The amount of free time was perfect. Everything was extremely well-organized thanks to China Spree and our terrific National Guide. I highly recommend China Spree based on my experience!.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the China’s Best Treasures by China Spree. We were especially impressed with the friendly and courteous care given by all who made the trip so memorable for us. Within the time available, we saw all that one could possibly expect of the important sights. The accommodations were nice. The national and local tour leaders did a wonderful job of adding to our enjoyment by helping us understand what we saw. We consider the China Spree to be an outstanding value. (And I know of what I speak because I have been on numerous foreign tours given by well known tour companies). If you plan to travel by China Spree, you do not have to be apprehensive about the tour. You will be well cared for. Your welfare is uppermost in the minds of your guides.

My wife and I have taken several escorted tours in Europe and Central America and would rank our China Spree tour as of our best experiences based upon its comprehensive itinerary and value for the money. Our initial concerns regarding the low price, a possible language barrier and the reputed sanitary issues were absolved as we embarked on the tour. The prearranged meals afforded us true flavors of the areas of the country we visited without any concern about what we were eating; the hotel accommodations were excellent and perhaps a little better than what we normally stay at in the USA (on a retirees pension and a teachers salary) and the air, river and bus modes of transportation were better than expected. Our national guide’s English and her explanations of what we were seeing and were to see were excellent. Her knowledge of American culture provided her just enough to appreciate us as guests and what we might want to know.

Just got back from 14 day China’s Best Treasures, the tour was the most spectacular trip i have ever been on it blended cultural sites and beautiful scenery all in one.. I bonded with our group and had such a fun exciting time. Everything is handled for you by experts. So relax and open your mind to another world. CS: Comment on your Tour Manager, using rate 1-10 while 10 is the best Lisa...she impressed me the most. I loved her knowledge and humor and she brought China and all it’s wonders up close and personal to her tour. Next to her it was Hiking the Great Wall with all it’s majestic beauty, Terra Cotta Warriors and the Show by Zhang Yimou on the Li River against its limestone peaks.. Lisa was China’s Best Treasure.. She is a perfect example of Excellent Customer Service.. She really made each person in our group feel special and i personally watched her turn from sweetheat to Dragon Lady when one hotel messed up our rooms...Lets just say she knows how to get things done. We could not be more pleased. CS: Based on your experience from this trip what would you like to say to potential travelers to China? Answer: This trip is an adventure of a lifetime and the amazing sites will always be in your memories and photo’s.

As a family, we have been on numerous tours across the globe (Europe, South America, Middle East, Africa) with many of the more well known tour operators (Globus, Grand Circle, Trafalgar, etc.) and I can honestly say that our tour in China was probably the best operated tour that I have been a part of. The tour had a great itinerary (the main reason for our selecting the trip), was very cost competitive, and essentially all inclusive. Many other tours that we have been on require you to pay extra for many optional tours and only include water with the occasional meal that is provided. The China Spree tour which was for 22 days only had 4 add-on optional tours, had every meal but 4 included (2 of which were on our free day in Shanghai) and every meal had 2 drinks included. The China Spree tour also focused on the reason we came to China, to see China. The guides gave plenty of time (both with instruction and free) to see and explore all of the major sites (Great Wall, Terra-Cotta Warriors, etc.) Other tours that we have been on in the past left me feeling like I had not had sufficient time to explore. After completing my tour, I would give China Spree my highest recommendation. You can feel confident that they will have all the bases covered, will treat you like a VIP, even if you are in a small group (we had only 5 of us on our tour) and make sure that your trip to China is a holiday that you will not forget.

This was an excellent tour! We saw so much of this amazing country! The hotels we stayed at were wonderful and the food was great. Overall, the guides were extremely knowledge about the history of their cities and the country. Our national guide was exceptional and did a wonderful job ensuring that everyone/everything was taken care of.

David and I visited China in October of 2009 and we had a wonderful experience due to China Spree and the weather. We had no bad weather which always makes an adventurous vacation more fun. Our national guide, Bill Huang (you may want to request him) was the other reason everything went better than we had expected. He is very aware of the needs and wants of his guests. We saw all the national sites of the Middle Kingdom that we knew to see and we were given time to enjoy them, and we saw much more as well. We visited places that we would not have known to look for. We were given the history of China, our questions were answered; we met and mingled with the Chinese people, and we experienced life in China. All this was enjoyed with the comfort of clean, nice buses and very good drivers. We did not have one driver among four that made us gasp even once. We did not need to handle our luggage except to identify it. Our hotels were all very nice, clean, friendly, and the rooms spacious. The food.....we thought of eating Chinese the day we returned home. The breakfasts in the hotels were banquets, and the lunch and dinner meals always offered us at least one new and different flavor. Traveling from city to city was made painless. Though he would never promise us easy travel, Huang was always able to secure boarding passes and check in without lines and hassles and our seat assignment wishes were always considered. We only worried that we may never again be able to get ourselves around in our travels of the world without China Spree. CS: Comment on your Tour Manager, using rate 1-10 while 10 is the best Answer: Bill Huang, out national guide, was simply outstanding. We know your score is 1-10 but we would rate him higher. He just made the trip for all of us. His is intelligent, efficient, thorough, while personable, humorous, and genuinely concerned that his guests see and enjoy doing all they expect to do. CS: Based on your experience from this trip what would you like to say to potential travelers to China? Answer: Go to China. Do not hesitate. The sites and history are understood best by being there. The people you meet will you not forget. The Chinese, as we came to know them, are a warm and humorous people. Visit with a guide; without a guide you will miss more than you want to. The language, you can learn a few words. The people will help you. If you are going to use a tour group.....i recommend China Spree

CS: What did you like about this trip? Answer: The things I liked best about this trip are 1. The People of the People’s Republic of China are Beautiful, Friendly, Talented, Hard Working and more 2.Air China. The service was super fine. 3.The tour guides who did their best to host us and inform us and have fun. 4. The drivers who never looked back and keep going forward to get us there on time safely in fine buses. 5. The hotels were so luxurious. Each one was like a visit to heaven with a feast for breakfast.. 5Star 6. The itinerary brought us to destinations we will cherish in our mind’s eye. beyond our imagination 7. The ancient beauties and the modern wonders of architecture and the Chinese people that built them, 8. The Yangtze River Cruise because of the relaxation, the entertainment, the comfort and the food, extras. The video provided by the cinematographer was award winning quality at affordable price. The amenities on the Century Cruise Line were luxurious. The activities filled the afternoon and evenings with excitement. meet the Captain Champagne Toast, Crew Talent Show and Dance, 9. The endless banquet of delightful dishes at every meal. The bountiful food and drink was so generous. 10. Sharing the Total Solar Eclipse was so special: the phenomenon was better than Science Fiction TV 11. The lessons we learned: That the People’s Republic of China is a peaceful, safe, free, beautiful place. with wonderful potential to lead the world like a friendly Panda to new prosperity and achievement. 12. The New York City Broadway Quality of Show excursions. These included the Kung Fu Show, the Asian Cultural Show, the Acrobatic Show. CS: What would you change about this trip? Answer: I will be honest. Speaking for the entire group who spoke among each other: there needs to be more time to rest, acclimate yourself to the travel, have free time to explore on your own and to shop. ( You see we have a big circle of friends who we promise to bring back surprises and treasures, like t shirts, souvenirs. The reason for this is 1. We go on vacation for new adventures (true) however this is sometime best discovered on your own time. 2. We as Americans are very hard workers often 12 hours a day and more. We have an expression 'Work hard, Play hard. ' Some of the historic excursions could be abbreviated to half the time. e.g. a half day instead of a whole day. I do not say this out of disrespect. It is just that the learning could be condensed and covered in half the time. We can get the idea of the magnificence of this ancient culture sooner . In our particular tour so many treasures were viewed over the course of 15 days that it can be exhausting. CS: Things that impressed you most on this trip Answer: We were most impressed with the welcome of the typical Chinese person even in the Beijing Hutong. We felt that as Americans our presence made the Chinese people happy. It was an unsolicited reaction from almost everyone we met. It is not a behavior you could pay for or stage like a play. This of course is a wonderful feeling. It is very encouraging and we will always remember that in the future the great People’s Republic of China is our friend. We were impressed with the ease that so many Chinese have getting along with each other. In other words, how they respect themselves and one another. When Americans ask us this question this is the answer we give them. We get the sense that the Chinese People are optimistic about their future for good reason. CS: How was the general performance of your guides? Answer: These were extremely hard working persons who displayed many virtues, especially patience. Many time we as passengers had requests that would require explanations or special needs met. The guides were totally accommodating. We are most grateful to them and would return the hospitality to them here in the states. CS: The local guides you like best. Why? Answer: Michael in Beijing was able to verbalize much history in a story like fashion to keep our interest. Good sense of humor too and compassionate about the heat and the long walks. Ambrosia was tireless in covering the Terra Cotta warriors. She has much pride in her city of Xian. Eric made friends with my son Anthony and on the long bus ride taught him some more Mandarin which he studies on Rosetta Stone. It is an excellent program. Owen was the TV quality entertainment host. he had everyone’s attention and lots of fun. Gracie went along with our play and was part of our cruise guest show. She is so charming. Richard informed us about Dr.Sun Yat Sen and helped us connect to the train and the airport with ease. William knows Hong Kong and covered the best spots. Everyone commented on his sophistication. Jack got us to the Panda Zoo and to Stilwell Museum. He is fascinating on the growing economy. Kelly in Shanghai was a dear and told us stories about East Lake and CS: Based on your experience from this trip what would you like to say to potential travelers to China? Answer: If you want to be treated like a celebrity, take this tour. You will learn what life on the other side of the world is like. Vibrant and Awe Inspiring. Get out of the shop and the office and the store and the class room and experience the real world in the Peoples Republic of China. Learn for yourself that this is a free nation because it could not have accomplished the achievements thus far without the willingness of the people. See what a truly unified people can do. This is a country with vast possibilities and promise. See the natural beauty, Travel forward and backward in time to see this culture. See for yourself and don’t just believe that the East is living in the last century. China is our friend and we would enjoy knowing China better.

I would happily recommend China Spree to anyone wanting to travel with a tour group in China. Our group only had 10 people total (all American) and we were like family by the end of the trip. Our national and local guides were extremely knowledge and friendly. The price was great for what we received on this trip. The hotels we stayed in were nice, even compared to American hotels. There weren’t any superfluous shopping stops, none that we didn’t want to stop into anyways. The meals we got three times a day were delicious and filling (mostly chinese food served family style). Since the groups are smaller, it allows a little bit more flexibility as compared to other tours. I would highly recommend China Spree to anyone from the US traveling to China.

I had no desire to go and see China and my husband who turned 50 said I don’t want a party I just want to go see China . So, I was a reluctant travellor. I had probably no expectations and I certainly was concerned abou the language barrier. Well, let me tell you, I had a great time and I learned so much history and enjoyed myself immensely. First I had no idea that China was so impressive with regards to the sight seeing and the shopping is amazing. I am so glad I went!

China Spree gave us the trip of a lifetime on our 'panorama tour:' a thoughtful, varied itinerary in just the right order, with a mixture of exercise and rest; a top-notch national guide and good local guides, superb organization, fabulous hotels way beyond our expectation, tasty meals, and interesting optional experiences, such as the amazing light show in Yangshuo. The thorough China Spree website answered all our questions, provided historical background, and gave on-target advice about clothing, adaptors, and photographic equipment and batteries. And, with its great testimonials, it attracted a great group of people with whom we enjoyed traveling. I’m delighted to be able to encourage others to embark on their own adventures in China with China Spree as their guide!

We just came back from our amazing Imperial China Tour with Tibet and Hong Kong and wanted to tell you that we were very pleased with World Spree. The way your company organized this tour was amazing. We had a blast and not a single bad experience during all these unforgettable 24 days. One of the main keys of success of this trip was Kevin, the National Guide. He is an exceptional person and a big asset for your company. He was very knowgeable, hard working, detail oriented person, able to deal with the different requests of our large group, where not every one had the same interests... I will recommend to anyone World Spree for this tour. Continue the good work!! Until the next trip.

I give my highest praise to Chinaspree! Every aspect of our 8-day timeless Beijing trip was exactly as I wanted it to be. Our tour guide, Lisa, was the cherry on top! :) She was professional, informative and personable! She went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our satisfaction. Our driver kept us safe and was also professional and personable. We were seriously impressed by his ability to maneuver our bus through busy Beijing streets. The team before we left kept us well-informed and prepared us in every way. The original reason we decided to book this tour in the first place was the affordable cost combined with the high-quality of the tour. We were not disappointed. Kudos chinaspree/worldspree for setting the bar so high!

CS: What could we have done to make your trip more enjoyable? Answer: My husband and I experience with China Spree was very good. When booking, we had our concerns about ratio price/quality, but our surprise was that everything went good. I would never take this trip without a tour and resulted that this company had everything arranged for us, tickets (we did not have to stay in long lines), restaurants (meal was served in a very short time), shows (we had good seats), Hotels may vary in qualitiy but overall good. Nice experience!

Dear China Spree, Jack and I have been on other tours but never anything approaching our Sept 2-Sept 16 Yangtze Cruise and Tibet Odyssey. Our guide, Tom Hoyang, was the kindest-hearted person I have ever met, except, possibly, for Penba, our local guide in Lhasa (15 years a monk in the Serra Monastery!)... Between these two well-informed natural teachers (and simply beautiful people) we gained insights into the real soul of the deeply religious Tibetans who have so little but enjoy such inner peace; and into the rapidly changing cultures of the diverse Chinese peoples. I didn’t know what impressions I would come away with, but, after so many exchanges of sincere smiles and so many conversations with the young people, on the river cruise, at restaurants, during massages (wonderful foot and reflexology massages!!) I found the people to be bright, open, gentle and kind. I was stunned with how beautiful and modern Beijing and Shanghai have become! Of course, the old parts of the cities were the most captivating. I loved the ancient temples and palaces, but was most deeply affected by seeing ordinary people living ordinary lives. Our walk through Chongqings Old Town was a favorite, as were our visits to private homes and to the orphanage, under construction in a village outside Lhasa. I could go on and on and never begin to highlight all the wonders which are still dominating most of my waking hours. I still can’t believe all we experienced in such a short time. Our group of 16 delightful travel companions has made us many permanent new friends. Like so many of the testimonials, I, too, would like to express my appreciation for receiving so much at such an affordable price! Thank you, China Spree!!
