Introduction

Most westerners travel to Vietnam and Cambodia only once in their lifetime. World Spree wants to ensure you have all the resources in planning your dream vacation. Please read the following information regarding the level of activity you can expect, your physical requirements, trip destination information, tour pacing and meal arrangements specific to this Vietnam and Cambodia tour.

Physical Requirements

This multi-city package tour is moderately paced and includes a reasonable amount of walking or hiking. It is suitable for an average level of physical fitness, but is not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids. The tour itinerary does involve sightseeing on foot, walking on uneven surfaces, and climbing of stairs without handrail or assistance. This is an active tour. You should be able to EASILY negotiate climbing many stairs and walking for 30 minutes in 90-degree heat. To fully participate in this tour, you must be able to complete some long days of touring with minimal breaks.

Tour Pacing

6 cities for 14 nights: 2-nights in Hanoi; 1-night Halong Bay Cruise; 2-nights in Hoi An; 2-nights in Hue; 4-nights in Saigon; and 3-nights in Siem Reap (Angkor Wat). We have four intra-Asia flights of one-hour each.

Climate & Terrain

The best season for this Vietnam tour is November to March, when the climate in most part of Vietnam is mild. June-August is typhoon season, which could extend to September. Late April and May could be hot and humid in South of Vietnam (Saigon area).

Group Size & Tour Guides

World Spree tour guides are hand-picked, well-trained and service oriented. They are constantly evaluated based on the feedback from every single World Spree customer. We know the success of your trip largely depends on the quality of our tour guides; therefore, we strive to hire only the best.

For groups of 10 travelers or more, a tour guide will be assigned to travel with your group throughout your trip. Your tour guide will also act as your local guide in each city. We need a minimum of 10 travelers to guarantee the tour departure. Group size varies depending on the trip, seasonality, airline availability, and special departure dates and events.

The quietvox headphone is provided to this specific tour program when the group size is 10 or more. This means that each tour participant will receive a lightweight, portable receiver that can be worn around the neck or slipped into a pocket to aid in hearing the tour guides. The quietvox headphone is designed for comfort and quality; allowing you and your fellow travelers the ability to easily hear your tour guide's instructions and stories.

Document Delivery

Your final travel documents will be sent to you via email about two weeks prior to departure. This email will include a copy of your electronic air ticket receipt (e-ticket), the final tour itinerary, hotel and emergency contacts, and other important information for your trip.

FAQ

Q: What is your tipping policy?
Tipping can confuse group travelers to Indochina. They serve as a prime motivator for tour guides and other service providers as they compromise the main source of their income; therefore, they commonly expect tips in their booming tourism industry. Nevertheless, if you find the service lacking, DON'T TIP. You can report any service and behavioral matters that you think do not match our World Spree standards to our office at your earliest convenience, and we can then make corrections promptly as it is our top priority.

For your convenience, you will be provided with a gratuity guideline in your final documents.

Q: What kind of clothing should I bring?
Although there are dry and rainy seasons in Cambodia, it remains hot around the year. Bring lightweight clothes that are easy to layer; especially a hat and sunscreen.

Dress and act modestly, so when in or near temples such as Angkor Wat, keep signs of affection to a minimum and dress as modestly as possible. Both men and women must wear clothing that covers the shoulders, part of the upper arms and legs in order to be granted entrance into temples.
Q: Does your tour have any shopping stops?
Absolutely NOT. Shopping stops are traps incorporated by the tour organizer, solely for the purpose of generating commission from their patrons' purchases at these stores, to subsidize their low pricing and underpaid service staff. This is considered sinful for trips to the land of purity and Buddhism.
Q: Do I need any vaccinations before the trip?
Please contact the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by visiting www.cdc.gov/travel or by calling toll-free 1-800-232-4636.
Q: Can we have non-smoking room?
Yes, we always book non-smoking rooms unless a smoking room is requested by the client.

Passport & Visa Requirements

Valid passport is required for all World Spree travelers (U.S. and Canadian Citizens) traveling abroad. Your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your trip return date. Your passport should have sufficient blank pages for visa stamp(s), per country you are visiting, amendment and endorsement pages cannot be used for visa stamping.

The following visa requirements are specific to U.S. and Canadian citizens. Citizens of other countries must check with the respective embassies and visa agencies to determine what travel visa and personal identifications are required. Travelers who enter, leave and re-enter the same country on their itinerary must check if they require a double-entry or multiple-entry visa.

It is the responsibility of every traveler to obtain and pay for all entry documents (visas, etc.) as required by the laws for each country on your itinerary.

Visa Requirement – Vietnam

Travelers to Vietnam must obtain a tourist visa prior to departure. U.S. citizens can apply for tourist E-Visa, or a conditioned Visa On Arrival (VOA) upon arrival at Vietnam's international airports. Neither of these two visa options requires you to physically present your passport for visa processing prior to arrival in Vietnam.

Vietnam E-Visa Application

Please visit here for more information to apply the Vietnam E-Visa.

Vietnam Visa On Arrival (VOA) is different from the VOA processing of other countries, it requires the passenger to obtain a "VOA Approval Letter" via a travel agency prior to boarding flight to Vietnam.

The Vietnam E-Visa is a straightforward procedure. The only concern is that even with E-Visa pre-arranged by yourself, you may still encounter the hassles of the Custom clearance procedure and possible long waiting lines at Vietnam Customs. For the convenience of our travelers, World Spree offers a VOA Assistance Service in Hanoi

Visa On Arrival (VOA) Assistance Service in Hanoi

This service is exclusively for World Spree travelers who participate in our tour programs to Vietnam.

USD$70 per person charged by World Spree at time of tour booking (covering both Vietnam and Cambodia)

USD$25 per person (all nationalities) stamping fee payable at Vietnam Customs (applicable for tours to Vietnam)

USD$30 per person (all nationalities) stamping fee payable at Cambodia Customs (applicable for tours to Vietnam + Cambodia)

Please ensure you do have one full blank passport page for every country that you will visit.

World Spree charges $70 per person to process:

 • Your Vietnam “Visa On Arrival Approval Letter”, which you present to the related airline for your flight to Vietnam as well as to Vietnam Customs upon arrival, and
 • Additional visa assistance service that helps you to expedite the visa and Customs clearance process upon your arrival in both Vietnam and Cambodia, where applicable. All you need to do is to look for an airport staff holding World Spree sign, who will greet you at the entrance of the Arrival Hall, then collect your visa stamp fees and visa photo, and direct you to a resting area while he/she is processing your VOA documents. Afterwards, he/she will walk you through the procedure of visa stamping and Customs clearance. The gratuities to the greeting staffs in both Vietnam and Cambodia, where applicable, is prepaid.

This assistance service is provided to address the hassles of e-visa holders when they clear the Vietnam Customs, as well as dealing with the complications of the VOA procedure. With the VOA Assistance Service, you will receive the Vietnam VOA Approval Letter along with other travel documents from World Spree prior to departure. You will be greeted and walked through the entire visa and Customs clearance process for both Vietnam and Cambodia (where applicable) arrival, and most importantly, you don't need to queue for long time, and fill in additional forms for visa and Customs clearance.

How to reserve and follow “Vietnam VOA Assistance Service”

 • Choose “Vietnam VOA Assistance Service” among other optional tours and features when you book the related Vietnam tours.
 • Send your passport copy by email to docs@worldspree.com, or upload it at your World Spree Member Area.
 • You do not need to send us your physical passport to process your Visa On Arrival
 • Bring a valid passport and one photo (2x2) along with the cash payment ($25 visa stamping fee for single-entry or $50 for multiple-entry), payable at Vietnam Customs, and a printed VOA Approval Letter, which will be issued to you with other World Spree travel document.
 • A repersentative with World Spree sign will greet you at Vietnam and/or Cambodia arrival airport and walk you through the Visa On Arrival and Customs clearance procedure.

Visa On Arrival for Vietnam cannot be granted at any land border crossing. If entering via a land crossing to Vietnam you must already be in possession of a valid visa.

For passengers obtaining Vietnam visa on your own, please follow the regular line upon arrival to clear the customs.

For citizens from other countries, please contact the Embassy directly if in case our VOA Assistance Service is not applicable.
