You will have the opportunity to fly over the Nazca Lines and wonder about the purpose of these gigantic geoglyphs carved by the Nazca people more than a thousand years ago. You will set sail on a boat to the Ballestas Islands, and observe the habitat of seals and sea lions, as well as other marine wildlife like Humboldt penguins. Complemented with this unforgettable experience is your stay at a 5-star resort-styled luxury oceanfront hotel.
Transfer to the airport in Pisco for your morning flight over the Nazca Lines. On this journey, you see the Ica and Nazca deserts, the lands that were home of the Paracas and Nazca civilizations between 800 BC and 700 AD. Archaeologists have still not been able to figure out the purpose of these mysterious Nazca lines carved on the desert plains. You also see 12 of the main geoglyphs at this UNESCO World Heritage Site including the whale, monkey, hummingbird, spider, tree and astronaut. Upon return to the airport, you are taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure so you can enjoy the swimming pool or world-class spa in your hotel.

Let our guide take you on a nature trail through the beautiful and lush tropical surroundings of Aguas Calientes. You will discover exotic orchids endemic to this region and will also come across many bird species, including hummingbirds. You end with a fantastic visit to the Manuel Chavez Ballon Museum which exhibits a collection of artifacts found during the excavations of Machu Picchu.

Cherish this rare experience and revisit Machu Picchu in the early morning right when the gates open, making you the first visitor and beating the crowds who arrive later by train. You will have ample time to explore at your own pace and do a short hike to the Sun’s Gate lookout point for a postcard-like photograph of the ruins. (No guidance included, but assistance and arrangements are coordinated by the trip leader. Inclusive of entrance to Machu Picchu and bus ride to/from ruins)
